The short version
Trail to Offer sends some of your text to two AI companies, and to nobody else. Both of them have committed in writing not to train models on it. Neither of them ever receives a file you uploaded — only text. Nothing you keep here is sold, advertised against, or visible to another account.
What leaves this product, and where it goes
The files you upload are never sent to either company. Both read text only, so what leaves this product is the text extracted from a document at upload — never the PDF or Word file itself, which stays in a private bucket only you can read from.
Anthropic
Used for: Cover letters, interview question sets, and scoring an interview attempt.
What is sent:
- the job description you pasted onto the job
- the extracted text of the resume in that job’s application kit
- the cover letter you asked to be rewritten, and the feedback you gave on it
- what you said in an interview attempt, as your browser transcribed it
What is not sent: your uploaded files, your email address, your name, your notes, your contacts, and anything about any other job.
Training: Anthropic states, in their Anthropic Commercial Terms of Service:
“Anthropic may not train models on Customer Content from Services.”
How long they keep it: 30 days — the standard retention period for Anthropic’s commercial API, which is how this deployment is configured. Some models carry a 30-day floor that cannot be shortened.
TypeSafe
Used for: Scoring your footing on a job.
What is sent:
- the job description you pasted onto the job
- the extracted text of the resume in that job’s application kit
- the extracted text of the cover letter in that job’s application kit
What is not sent: your uploaded files, your email address, your name, your notes, your contacts, and anything about any other job.
Training: TypeSafe states, in their TypeSafe privacy policy:
“We will not train or fine tune any artificial intelligence or machine learning models on your prompts or other Input.”
The same policy adds that “we will not disclose any Input to a third party other than our service providers”.
How long they keep it: No period is published. TypeSafe says input is kept “as long as reasonably necessary to provide you with the Services, or otherwise in support of our business or commercial purposes”, and is deleted on request. That is the one thing on this page we do not know a number for.
Retention can differ by model: some models carry a floor that cannot be shortened, whatever an account is configured for. That is part of why this page is dated.
What this product holds
Your jobs, contacts, notes, drafts, interview attempts and footings live in a database where every row carries your account id, and every query runs under a database policy that compares that id to the account making the request. There is no shared or public record in this product for that policy to have an exception for.
The files you upload live in a private bucket, under a path beginning with your account id, readable only through a short-lived link signed for you. Your password, if you use one, is held by the authentication service and never reaches this application.
What this product does not do
- We do not sell your data, and there is nobody to sell it to.
- We do not show advertising, and nothing here is funded by profiling you.
- We do not share anything between accounts. There is no row in this product a second person may read — no shared job, no public board.
- App feedback you send is emailed to the person who makes this and stored nowhere.
- Deleting your account erases everything it owns at once and for good, including every record that you accepted these terms.
Deleting everything
Deleting your account erases its data at once and for good — jobs, contacts, documents and their files, drafts, quota weeks, plan, interview attempts, footings, and the record that you accepted the terms. There is no grace period and nothing to restore.
What has already been sent to an AI company is theirs to expire under the retention above. Deleting your account here does not reach into their logs, and this page will not pretend otherwise.
